Sometimes the best weekends are the ones that we have no plans. We create spontaneous activites to just enjoy the day and see where the wind takes us. Except, I don’t know about you but sometimes with so options of many places to go, that the hardest part is deciding. Then you end up finding yourself going to the same places and doing the same things. So here are some ideas of ways to get out in nature, move and energize after a busy week. I want to take the stress out of planning for you so you can just get outside and experience it.

Have a great weekender and enjoy getting outside

YOGA OR WORKOUT AT THE BEACH

Why not take your workout outside of the four walls of a gym and do it outside in the fresh air. There is so much you can do, whether it is getting all sandy and connecting to the earth in yoga (you can also check out Stuart Watkins Yoga at City Beach. it is amazing!!), or use park benches, steps and more for a fun workout. ( needing ideas, why not try Running Wild Fitness)

There is seriously so many ways you can move outside, whether it is hard core or a bit more restoritive. What ever you need.

WHITFORDS NODES STAIRCASE

Stairs are so good for us. They build up our leg power, cardio fitness and help us tackle daily activities easier. What is better than stairs.. is stairs with a veiw at the top. Whiford Nodes have 145 Stairs calling your name, ready to be tackled. There is also a connecting path through the bush, so you don’t have to tackle the downhill steps if you don’t want to. Plus, whitfords is a great spot for all the families too. Bring a BBQ, head to the beach, tackle the stairs and the kids can have a go on the ninga course.

Need a coffee stop, head to Lot One Kitchen.

GET OUT ON THE WATER

We are lucky to have a beautiful river and beaches right next to our doorstep, so have you been for a paddle on it, whther by paddleboard or kayak? Try exploring close to perth with paddles from Maylands to Ascot Marina, East Perth to Elizabeth Quay ( and stop for icecream at Gusto Gelato) or Mount Pleasant to Salter point, fremantle

Further away paddling trips include Rockingham to Penguin Island, Secret Harbour and port Kennedy.

Needing a kayak, visit Perth Kayak hire, Funcats, Rivergods.

EXPLORE KINGS PARK

Kings Park has over 12 trails you can explore, whether that is a sealed path, firm path or more softer trail, when was the last time you explored this area.

Walks can be as short as a couple of km’s or up to 6km. You can then combine a few different loops together to extend it out, or just sitand watch the view or the water. A perfect mini escape from the hustle and bustle.

RIDE AROUND THE LAKES

Needing a ride to get the whole family out? Why not tackle to two lakes, Lake Monger and Herdsman Lake. These are about 12km combined. Start at Lake Monger near the parking off Powis street. Complete the first lake then make your way to the other lake. ( Head up Dodds St and than make a right at Herdsman Parade. Don’t want to ride it, this is a great run too.
